Most of our work is confidential; however, here are some redacted case studies which highlight our capabilities.
Defence
An MOD subsidiary’s newly appointed Finance Director wanted to immediately implement a new Management Information System (MIS) using SAP. We persuaded him to map existing processes and compare them to where they should be using a small team of Maxtian’s consultants. Following that he asked us to manage a procurement competition, which Oracle won. We were then asked to oversee the implementation and roll out of the new MIS system.
An MOD subsidiary had a paper archive of technical know how and knowledge going back to the late 1940’s. Maxtian digitised the archive, categorising and prioritising information for a Knowledge Management Project.
An MOD subsidiary embarked upon a recruitment drive; we supplied a Senior HR Executive to oversee the process.
On a joint Home Office and HMRC Counter-Terrorism Programme one of our consultants acted as Finance Director. Writing the 10 year Financial Plan successfully seeking approval for £120m Capital and £900m Resource expenditure. Maxtian then supplied a small team of Project Managers to help implement the plan by installing capital equipment at various UK locations.
A Government department’s R&D programme was badly managed from a financial perspective. One of our consultants, working on a part-time basis, reproduced financial records, reducing the incorrectly forecasted underspend of £9m to an actual underspend of £0.6m and secured Treasury funding of £21m for the next financial year.
In 2013 we supplied a “world class” acoustics consultant to work on a Top Secret defence programme. Today, in 2016, we supply a team of three consultants working on the expanded programme secured for an additional two years.
Transport
We saved a major aircraft manufacturer $130m per year from their procurement programme by helping their suppliers implement a process improvement programme.
Provided a “Blue Print” handbook to a major London airport identifying how their Programme and Project Managers will improve to achieve the corporate objective of becoming an “Intelligent Client.”
On a “National Space Information System” programme in Saudi Arabia, we supplied three consultants to deliver expertise in Knowledge Management, Information Security and Commercial Tendering.
Energy
Created and delivered workshops to early stage Clean Technology CEOs and Chief Technology Officers demonstrating the need for good quality financial management on behalf of a Government sponsored NGO and Venture Capital Fund.
From an initial telephone conversation with an international infrastructure company at 15:00 on a Wednesday. To writing the strategic electricity supply part of a joint Water and Electrical “wining” bid document hand delivered in Qatar the following Monday.
Providing to DECC on their Smart Meter programme, Project Management expertise to their enterprise architecture team on a 12 month contract.
Over a number of years we delivered a number of projects to a Government sponsored NGO focused on Waste Resource. Some examples are:
